In anticipation of Netflix’s upcoming “Tiger King 2,” the follow-up to the streamer’s popular, Emmy-nominated docu-series about the criminally entertaining competition between tiger park owners Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, mobile barber shops styled New Yorkers and Los Angelenos with the stars’ now-iconic hairstyles.

Agency FCA partnered with local barbers The NY Barber and The Barber Truck to mobilize around the cities. Over 300 free appointments were available, 180 in NYC and 125 in LA, and they sold out in less than 12 hours.

The offerings: mullets and flower crowns. In the style of Joe Exotic, many left appointments with shaved sides, business fronts and party backs. To pay homage to Carole Baskin, the barbers offered hair teases topped with flower crowns. For added spice, fans could add tiger-stripe hairspray.

The trucks toured Bryant Park, Times Square and Washington Square Park in New York and in Los Angeles, the roamed Santa Monica, Silverlake, Venice, West Hollywood and University of Southern California coliseum, where 25-30,000 were attending a football game. Representatives from the campaign estimate about 75,000 witnessed the truck decorated with tigers and promoting the new series’ November 17 premiere date.
