Blake Griffin Pays Tribute to the Playground Basketball Court in a Stylish Jordan Spot
For NBA Star, His Local Court Was the 'Beginning'
Editor's Pick
In a stylishly nostalgic new film for Nike's Jordan Brand, NBA star Blake Griffin pays tribute to the playground basketball court as the place where it all started for him.
The spot, by Jordan's content agency Los York, sees Griffin sitting on the bleachers of a playground court reflecting on how, for him, it was the "beginning." As he reflects on how playground is the "classroom, the runway, the comedy club, the church, the drama theater and concert hall," his voiceover plays over stylized scenes of different groups of young people playing, socializing and enjoying the summertime.
With footage shot in both color and black and white by director Dexton Deboree, the film brings a nostalgic and modern vibe to Jordan. It'll be accompanied by in-store, digital and social media activity also themed around the idea of the playground.
