The ad, which first aired during the Oscars, was created by Accenture Song. Bloomberg Media The company is rolling out the next chapter of its “Context Changes Everything” brand platform by bringing in Golden Globe-winning director Brady Corbet (“The Brutalist”) to shoot a trio of spots—his first time directing commercials. C4 Energy C4 is signing one standout player each from 64 top men’s and women’s college basketball teams ahead of March Madness. The 128 athletes are dubbed the “C4 Bracket Breakers.” They include Johni Broome, Mark Sears, Madison Booker and Lauren Betts. Nova A year after its launch, the marketplace for freelance creatives launched a black-and-white film with Antonio Banderas and David Schwimmer going back and forth about whether the crew hired for Banderas’ new movie are the best … of the best, of the best, of the best. The campaign was written and directed by Stillz. Pac-Man The iconic game, launched in 1980, is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a yearlong campaign that includes a new game with a twist, a simulator on Roblox and special-edition gaming accessories for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox, as well as playable electronic toys and arcade machines. The campaign kicks off with a 3D film from Bandai Namco Entertainment America, created by agency Bodega Virtual. Each frame of the film was created in-engine, from world-building and particle dynamics to MetaHuman-driven motion capture. Steak-umm Agency Tombras invented a ridiculous “Freezer Flag” that you attach to Steak-umm boxes so you can easily find them in the freezer. Unichem and Life Pharmacy x Uber Eats The two pharmacy chains teamed up with Uber Eats in New Zealand to create “Awkboards,” highly indiscreet digital billboards that flash embarrassing products—which aren’t embarrassing anymore because you can have them delivered instead of picking them up. FCB Aotearoa and Green Cross Health worked on the project. The ads are powered by real-time purchase data and Lumo’s digital out-of-home network—specific products pop up on the boards at the moment they’re picked up via Uber Eats. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas The Venetian Resort Las Vegas has unveiled a new logo and identity along with striking video and print work in a campaign called “Viva Las Venice,” all created by agency Preacher. Volvo The automaker launched the ES90, an electric model designed to balance the changing needs of the modern driver and their family, with a spot that literally illustrates the idea of balance. The ad was made by AKQA and directed by Jonas Lindstreom of Iconoclast. YSL A film by BETC Etoile Rouge for the luxury fragrance brand depicts an idyllic Parisian love story before rewinding to reveal subtle but dangerous signs of intimate partner violence. “Don’t Call It Love,” directed by Léa Ceheivi, challenges harmful relationship tropes in media under its Abuse Is Not Love program, a partnership with the nonprofit to help educate against intimate partner violence.
